To kick off this new series, I got the opportunity to interview fitness professional Siera Capesius about fitness, setting goals and style:
My true passion for health started when I was 18 years old and I wanted to become more educated about nutrition and the benefits of foods. I became so fascinated that I decided to get my degree in Human Nutrition and Dietetics. In 2013 I decided to take my workouts to a whole new level and I entered into a bikini fitness competition. Gaining muscle was not an easy task, and it was even more challenging at the time, because did not know how to lift properly and was scared to increase my max lifting weight. This process took a lot of PATIENCE and I had to educate myself about the proper lifting techniques. Through the process I learned about different training styles and the importance of sets, reps, and split workout routines. This did not happen in just a couple of months, it took years for me to finally see the muscle definition I wanted.
